We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the volunteers who worked tirelessly on Saturday, April 17, 2010, to improve the looks of our campus. The Grace Community Church Life Bridge group provided food, materials, and many volunteers to the project.
New landscaping is visible on the Polk Street side of the school as well as in the two courtyards inside of Jackson Middle School. Additionally, the girls’ gym and one wall of the cafeteria received fresh coats of paint. Finally, a mural is taking shape in the hallway between the band hall and the karate room. TAKS Testing - April 27 - 30 .Our 6th and 7th graders will complete the Math and Reading TAKS tests on Tuesday (Apr. 27) and Wednesday (Apr. 28). Eight graders will take the Science and Social Studies TAKS on Thursday and Friday. Please see that your child gets a good night’s sleep and eats a healthy breakfast on the morning of the test. |

Odyssey of the Mind @ JMS |

On Saturday, February 27, seventh graders from Jackson competed against schools from the greater Houston area in a problem solving event. Odyssey of the Mind allows students to generate unique and creative solutions to problems. Students designed a structure, wrote and performed a short play, as well as developing props and costumes for the play. The OM team was coached by Ms. G. Smith and Mr. J. Hernandez with support from Ms. Quintero. |
